Can I Use My Electricity Bill for Carbon Reporting?

Your quarterly electricity bill contains the "Gold Standard" data for Scope 2 reporting: Kilowatt Hours (kWh).
Where to find it
Look on the second page of your bill for a graph or table labeled "Usage". You might see:
- Peak Usage (kWh)
- Off-Peak Usage (kWh)
- Solar Export (do not count this as usage!)
Total it up
Simply add up the total Usage kWh for the year. Do not subtract your solar export—report your gross consumption from the grid to be conservative and compliant.
