Australia's electricity grid is state-based. The carbon intensity depends on how that state generates power:

• Victoria: Historically relied on brown coal (higher emissions), though renewables are growing fast.
• NSW: Black coal mix (high emissions).
• Tasmania: Mostly hydro-electric (very low emissions).
• SA: High percentage of wind/solar (lower emissions).
